Data Center Cooling Equipment Redesign

Mentor inherited an existing cooling-equipment design with broken and incomplete CAD that could not reliably support procurement or assembly. Rather than patch individual models, the team rebuilt and redesigned the equipment, completed tolerance analysis, created the production drawing package and developed an indented BOM for procurement. Mentor also supported on-site assembly troubleshooting.

Multi-Biometric Screening Device

Mentor developed this handheld biometric screening device from the ground up. The original need went beyond temperature measurement, so the program expanded into multiple biometric screening functions. Mentor developed the hardware, embedded programming and mechanical housings, including injection-molded components for production.

Disposable Biopsy Device

Mentor was approached with a concept for a disposable device designed to collect neck-tissue biopsies. Because the device is single-use, cost was a critical design requirement. The team developed the product around the required biopsy performance while driving the design to the target manufacturing cost.

Powered Liposuction Device

A medical-device customer wanted to add powered liposuction capability and provided a defined size envelope. Mentor developed the device from scratch, sized the motor and created the complete drive system that converts rotary motion into reciprocating motion. Functional units were manufactured through the Colombia operation and evaluated by surgeons.

Mentor developed the motion and dosing mechanism for an insulin delivery system, including the required dosing capacity and the precision mechanical architecture needed for repeatable delivery. The team tested units for dose accuracy and produced multiple functional units to support clinical evaluation.
